Obituary

Mariana A. Birrueta went to be with our lord on February 4, 2022, at the age of 72.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Zabulon Alvarez and Antonia Alvarez; a sister, Rebecca Alvarez; and a brother, Rogelio Alvarez.

Mariana is survived by her beloved husband, Manuel C. Birrueta; her children, Rosa De La Rosa, David Birrueta (Annette Rios), and Manuel J. Birrueta Jr.; grandchildren, Ray Anthony Suarez (Viviana), John Robert Suarez, Ariana Mari De La Rosa, Andrew De La Rosa, Joe De La Rosa IV, Fabian Birrueta, Adrian Birrueta, Ethan Birrueta, and Jayden Birrueta; great grandchildren, Ava Raelynn Suarez, Aurora Rae Suarez, and Josiah Raul Suarez; and siblings, Antonia Rodriguez, Raul Alvarez, and Robert Alvarez (Anita); in addition to numerous nieces and nephews.

Mariana was born on July 19, 1949, in New Braunfels, Texas to the late Zabulon and Antonia Alvarez. She accomplished so many incredible things in life, but she especially loved her family and the memories made together with them. Mariana and Manuel shared 46 beautiful years together. Mariana was really the ultimate wife and mother full of love, support, encouragement, and guidance. Her capacity for generosity knew no bounds as she was someone who would help anyone in need. She inspired those around her to be a better person. She was devoted to her faith and family and brought immense joy to those around her. We loved her caring ways, and she will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who knew her.

Words cannot express the feeling in our hearts. Thank you for your prayers and support during this difficult time. Your shared memories, comforting condolences and gestures of love are truly appreciated.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 23, 2022, at Castillo funeral home from 3:30 pm to 8:00 pm with a rosary to be recited at 6:00 pm. A funeral mass will be held on Thursday, February 24, 2022, at St. Jude Catholic Church at 10:00 am with interment to follow at San Fernando III Catholic Cemetery.
