With great sadness, the family of Mario Sepulveda Ortiz announces his passing on June 10, 2021 , at the age of 78, in his hometown of San Antonio, TX.

Mario is preceded in death by his Parents Everardo and Concepcion Ortiz, his brother Edward Ortiz and Sister Alicia Ortiz.

Mario will be sadly missed by his wife of 51 years, Judy Ortiz, children, Albert Ortiz (Nora Ortiz), Joanne Ortiz (Robert Jimenez), Michael Ortiz, and Lucy Ortiz (Fernando Solis Jr.). He will also be fondly remembered by his three grandchildren, Gabriella Jimenez, Anthony Ortiz, and Fernando Solis III.

Mario was born on September 28, 1942, and proudly graduated from Sidney Lanier High School in 1962. He honorably served his country in the United States Army from 1962 to 1965 during the Vietnam Era. Mario worked in the retail industry for over 50 years. He ended his career serving as a Regional Manager for the Stoffman Shoe company and retired in 2010. Mario was an enthusiastic sports fan who loved watching and attending sports activities, never missing any of his children and grandchildren's events. Throughout his life, he continued supporting Sidney Lanier High school by attending football and basketball games. Mario was a quiet man who loved BBQing with his family and enjoyed cracking jokes and teasing. He was a classic car enthusiast who often attended local car shows searching for his old 66 Mustang replica.

Per Mario's wishes, private funeral services will be held with immediate family members in attendance. The Ortiz family appreciates your love and support during this difficult time. Mario will be laid to rest at Fort Sam National Cemetery on July 01, 2021.
