Mario Trejo Valdez passed away peacefully at home on August 15, 2025. He was born in Haskell, TX on January 19, 1952.
Mario was a member of the United States Marine Corps, known as "Superfly" for his speed on foot. He enlisted in November of 1972 and served honorably as a reservist until November of 1978. He later served San Antonio as a lifelong taxi cab driver and owner/operator of River City Cab Co. becoming known as "Super" to his friends and family. As a driver, he met his loving wife, Alicia G. Valdez, who would spend the next 40 years by his side. Mario loved to shoot pool and was an avid fan of wrestling, hardly ever missing a televised event from his favorite, WWE.
Mario was preceeded in death by his son, Mario Valdez, Jr., his parents, Antonio Valdez and Macaria Trejo Valdez, his brother, Pablo Valdez and his step-son, Ricardo Lopez, Jr.
Mario is survived by his wife, Alicia G. Valdez, his daughters Juanita Rebecca Valdez, Rachel Valdez Fernandez (Mark); and his step-children Ricardo Gamez, Jaclyn Gamez (Frank Bazan), and Nick Lopez. He will be greatly missed by his grandchildren Iliana X. Gamez, Matthew Argeñal, Iyanna R. Valdez, Logan V. Bazan, and Sloan M. Bazan. His sisters, Ernestina Valdez & Maria F Guajardo, and his extended family and friends will also mourn his passing.
