Marisela Santos, 54, wife of Richard Santos, went to be with the lord on March 9, 2024, at her residence in San Antonio, Texas. She was born on August 12, 1969, in San Antonio, Texas, a daughter of Carlos Morales Jr. and the late Evangeline Zapata.
We will forever cherish the memories of Marisela's remarkable life and the impact she made on all those who knew her. She dedicated her life to her family, her time to organizations, Cesar E. Chavez Legacy and Education Foundation (CECLEF) and the Special Olympics programs, and she was deeply respected by these around her. Her compassion and care for others paired with her education and training were qualities that additionally made her so special. As a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) she helped countless patients throughout her career. Prior to her passing she cared for Jennifer Calderon Orozco, a patient who became a second daughter to her and a true testament to the kind of caregiver Marisela was. She was known for her fondness of many hobbies and interests that included sewing, collecting, making furniture and a talent for hair styling.
The greatest accomplishment in her life is the family unit she built to be so strong, especially now in her physical absence. Marisela will be remembered for the way she touched the lives of many and with sure and certain faith one day our souls will all be reunited once again.
Marisela is preceded in death by and now reunited with her mother, Evangeline Zapata.
Family members include her husband of 24 years Richard Santos; children, Richard Isaac Casarez and Daisy Marie Morales; father, Carlos Morales Jr.; siblings, Carlos Morales III, Veronica Jane Lopez and Lydia Leticia Faz; and numerous extended family members and friends.
The family will receive guests at Castillo Funeral Home on Friday, March 22, 2024, at 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm for visitation and at 6:00 pm for a rosary service.
A funeral mass will be conducted on Saturday, March 23, 2024, in St. Agnes Catholic Church at 10:00 am. The burial will follow with a graveside service Mission Burial Park South.
