Mark A. Gutierrez, 44, passed from this life to his eternal unexpectedly Friday July 09, 2021, at St Luke hospital from diabetes complications. He was born on November 12, 1976 in San Antonio, Texas, the son of Gregorio and Maria (Alvarez) Gutierrez. Mark graduated from Edgewood High School, Class of 1994 where he and Olivia O'Connor were blessed with son Kevin Rene Gutierrez. He worked at Casa Rio restaurant and Toudouze Market right after high school and shortly after Mark separated and shared custody of Kevin with his mother. He then transitioned into warehouse/distribution type positions at Block Distribution, then to AMC Industries, where he met Arlene Guerra and was blessed again with sons Christopher Ryan Gutierrez, Joseph Steven Gutierrez, step-daughters Meagan Guerra, Brittney Perez, and Samantha Wilson which he loved them with all his heart. His family grew and before long he moved to Peerless, and finally ending up at Gicon Pumps where he became Assistant Operations Manager. His heart was as big as Texas and his positive attitude and bright smile made him the life of any gathering and was the happiest when surrounded with family and friends. He loved God the outdoors and spent time with family barbecuing his famous ribs, fishing, football, Go Cowboys!, coaching and mentoring. He never met anyone who was a stranger. Mark is predeceased by his father Gregorio Gutierrez jr., grandfather Gregorio Gutierrez sr., grandfather Candelario Alvarez and grandmother Engracia P. Alvarez. Mark is survived by wife of 19 years Arlene Guerra, mother Maria De La Cruz, step-father Rene De La Cruz, brother Adrian Gutierrez, sisters Michelle Ximenez, and Minerva Gutierrez, grandmother Hermelinda Gutierrez, sons Kevin Rene Gutierrez, Christopher Ryan Gutierrez, and Joseph Steven Gutierrez, step-daughter Meagan Guerra and partner Joe Sanchez, step-daughters Brittney Perez, Samantha Wilson, grandchildren Ruben Casarez, Scarlet Renae Casarez, Madeline Vasquez, Jonathan Vasquez and numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephew, and cousins.
The family would like to send out a heartfelt thank you to all who have lovingly blessed his family with your prayers and support during this difficult time.
