He was a beloved husband, father, brother, uncle and a sincere friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him but will remain forever in our hearts. His legacy lives on through his surviving family. He is survived by his beloved wife Mary Helen Becerra-Cruz, a proud father to his children Reubina Maria Becerra-Cruz and David Eduardo Becerra-Cruz and brothers and sisters; Maria Virginia Nava, Guadalupe Antonio Hernandez, Maria Elena Salinas, Maria De Los Angeles Cruz, Blanca Estela Rodriguez, Margarita Cruz, Rosa Amelia Cruz, Ignacia Cruz, Arturo Cruz, numerous nieces and nephews, lifelong friends and those whose lives he touched.
Martin poured his heart and soul into creating a loving and stable home, always emphasizing the importance of faith, family, education, hard work and caring for others. His children were the center of his world. He touched the lives of many with respect, unconditional love and a kind heart, always putting others' needs before his very own. He had a strong spirit, remarkable strength and unwavering love for his family that was felt by everyone around him. There was nothing he wouldn’t do to help his family in times of need.
He was known as a hard worker for his skill. He took great pride in his work, always making sure that it was done correctly the first time. He found joy in the challenge of an engine problem as a machinist/engine builder where he enjoyed rebuilding all types of engines at Clay’s Auto Parts and Machine Shop for 30 plus years.
