Obituary

Martin V. Garcia, 63, passed away on September 9, 2026. He was born on February 19, 1963, to the late Romelia Villarreal Garcia and Lino Garcia.

Martin was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, godfather, and friend. He and his beloved wife, Lydia B. Garcia, were high school sweethearts. Their love story began when they were young, and they went on to share 44 years of marriage together. Through 44 years of life, they built a family, shared countless memories, and stood by each other through life’s joys and challenges.

Martin was a devoted father and an incredibly proud grandfather. His grandchildren held a very special place in his heart. He loved spending time with them, watching them grow, making memories with them, and simply being their Grandpa. Each of his grandchildren brought him a special kind of joy, and he loved them all deeply. His grandchildren will forever remember his love, his guidance, his laughter, and the special moments they shared with him. Being a grandfather was one of the greatest joys of his life, and the love he had for his grandchildren will remain with them forever.

Martin is survived by his beloved wife of 44 years, Lydia B. Garcia; his children, Lorraine Juarez and her husband, Victor Juarez, Anthony Barrientes and his wife, Lilly Barrientes, and Serenity Garcia; his grandchildren, Samantha, Mallory, Bella, Mia, Cattaleya, and Angel; his godsons, Richard Muniz and Oscar Garcia Jr.; his brother, Oscar Garcia; his sister-in-law, Jessica Garcia, wife of the late Juan Garcia; his sisters-in-law, Gloria Sanchez and her husband, Jesse Sanchez, and Adelina Garcia; his brother-in-law, Edward Barrientes; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and friends who loved him dearly.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Romelia Villarreal Garcia and Lino Garcia, and his brother, Juan Garcia.

Martin will be deeply missed by everyone who had the privilege of knowing and loving him. His family will forever carry his memory in their hearts and hold close the lessons, love, laughter, and memories he gave them. His grandchildren will carry with them the love of their Grandpa and the memories they made together—memories that will remain a part of them for the rest of their lives.

Though saying goodbye is incredibly difficult, his family finds comfort in knowing that he is no longer in pain and is now in the presence of the Lord. While our hearts are broken by his absence, we find peace knowing that he is resting in God’s loving arms. His love for his family will continue to live on through his wife, children, grandchildren, family, and all those whose lives he touched.

Forever loved. Forever missed. Forever in our hearts.
