Obituary

Mary H. Amador passed away peacefully in her home on the morning of December 2, 2021, in San
Antonio, Texas at the blessed age of 92. She was surrounded in love by her closest family and friends
until she was called home to be with the Lord.
Born in Kingsbury, Texas on May 19, 1929, she grew up in Seguin, TX to her late parents Antonio
Hernandez and Soledad Amaro. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband Pedro Amador Jr.;
daughter Sylvia A. Lopez (Joe A. Lopez); stepmother Emilia Hernandez; sisters Modesta Barrera and Janie
Arias, and stepsister Elizabeth Garcia.
She is survived by her son, Raymond Sotelo (Mary); grandchildren Sara Lopez, Melanie Perez (Rito),
Desiree Jimenez (Mario), Julianne Anguiano (Sammuel), and Joe David Lopez (Jessica); sisters Connie
Lara, Gloria Meredith, and Olga Hodge; brother Eleazar Hernandez; half-sister Dora Ancira and stepsister
Anna Montague; as well as several great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and extended family
members.
Mary was a smart, wise, independent, strong, religious, hardworking, generous, loving, and caring wife,
mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, neighbor, and friend. She lived a very active, independent life up
until her last few weeks. She loved to drive around town, visit Seguin and New Braunfels, buy her lottos,
make delicious menudo, tamales, and caldo, pray her rosary, watch her game shows, walk around the
mall, cheer on her Spurs and Cowboys, go to Church, and of course visit her family.
She will forever be missed by those that loved her and knew her, but may it bring peace to know that
she is reunited in heaven with her loving husband and daughter whom she has longed for and will
continue to watch over and protect all those she loved from above.
