Mary Alice Y.Castillo went to be with the lord on February 12, 2020. She was 78 years old. She was born in Prairie Lea, Texas on January 7, 1942.
Mary Alice was a graduate of FoxTech High School in 1960. She was president of the Roadrunners Car Club and went to San Antonio College after high school.
She later married Jose C.Castillo November 9, 1969 and had 5 children. Jacob was her oldest that passed away after birth and awaited her in heaven till she was ready to see him again. She then gave birth to Joseph, Jonas, Joel and April. Her children were her pride and joy. She worked multiple jobs to help support them.
She went to work with SAISD as a bus driver in August 1992 and later changed to a bus assistant. She retired from the district in January 2016.
When her children started giving her grandbabies nothing made her happier to have them all in her life. Every time she talked about one of them she would smile. Even her kids best friends became her kids too. She had a big heart and loved everyone.
Anyone that knew Mary Alice aka "Mama" knew she was sassy, funny, the woman that would give you something of hers if you liked it, a woman of faith that loved her God and most of all a Courageous Fighter.
She is preceded in death by her parent's Arturo Ynclan and Benita Villegas, husband Jose C. Castillo, son Jacob Castillo, her brothers Guadalupe, Danny and Antonio Ynclan.
Mary Alice "Mama" is loved and will be missed dearly. She is survived by her sons Joseph(Claudia) Castillo, Jonas(Catherine)Castillo, Joel(Dolores) Castillo, daughter April(Rafael) Hernandez, her brother Arturo(MariaAntonieta)Ynclan, 10 grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews and extended people she considered family.
The family wants to Thank Dr.Dham and the staff at Texas Oncology, the multiple Dr's and nurses and staff at Metropolitan Hospital, the nurses and therapist with MMHealth Care that cared for her this past year at home.
Visitation will take place on Friday, February 28, 2020 at Castillo Mission Funeral Home from 4pm until 9pm with a Rosary to be recited at 7pm. A funeral procession will depart at 8:45am on Saturday, February 29, 2020 for a 9:30am Mass of Resurrection at St. Ann's Catholic Church. Services to conclude after Mass.
