Mary R. Chapa

January 1, 1938 – January 27, 2021

Mary R. Chapa, age 83 of Campbellton, Texas entered eternal rest on January 27, 2021 from complications of COVID-19. She has four children, Betty J. Pena, Josie Galvan, Joe Chapa (Alice) and George L. Chapa.

Mary had a passion for helping others and worked as a Nurse for many years at University Hospital. She enjoyed cooking, spending time with family, playing bingo, and traveling.

Mary is reunited in heaven with her parents Santos and Julia Garcia, siblings, Santos Garcia, Lupe Ruiz and Carmen Alaniz, and son-in-law, Rudy Pena.

Mary is survived by her longtime companion, Rudy Gonzales; brothers Julian and Vincent Garcia and sister, Cecelia Garcia. She has 13 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Visitation will be held on Monday, February 22 ^nd with burial on February 23 ^rd .
