Mary Exon Fuentes, 66, beloved wife, daughter, mother, and grandmother passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by loved ones on July 3rd, 2025.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Virginia Exon; siblings, Theresa Grace, George, Larry, Paul and Robert Exon; brother-in-laws, Angel and Celestino Fuentes, Jr; mother-in-law, Maria Esther Chairez and father-in-law, Celestino Fuentes.
Survived by husband, Ruben Fuentes; son, Ruben Fuentes, Jr and partner, Marisela Suarez; daughter, Jessica Fuentes and partner, Monique Mendez.
Born on September 28, 1958, Mary grew up on the westside of San Antonio, where she spent her childhood with the Fuentes Family. On January 25, 1980, she married Ruben Fuentes and remained married for 45 loving years. Together they raised two beautiful children, Ruben Jr. and Jessica with unconditional love and affection. Mary spent 3 years in California with her family as a proud Marine wife, where Ruben, Jr spent his early childhood and Jessica was born.
Mary was a loving and proud grandmother to Ruben III, Cristino-Paul Ruben, Jacob Mathew Rueben, and Jordan Merlee. Most weekends and holidays were happily spent with the grandchildren attending local shows, events, church events, parks, and even traveling the country to places like Chicago and Disney World. She enjoyed traveling, hosting parties, trying her luck in the casinos and spending time with family and friends.
Mary is a Fox Tech Class of '77 alumni and spent over 30 years of her life working for Bexar County in various departments and retired in October 2021. Mary was a happy woman with a beautiful soul and beautiful smile, full of love and always willing to lend a helping hand. In turn, she was always surrounded by love with her family and friends.
Mary was the last of her immediate Exon family and survived by her sister-in-law, Elida Exon and children: Candice, Conrad and Andrew; sister-in-law, Tabitha Exon and 5 children, and cousin, Esmeralda Exon.
How blessed she was to live a very loved life and grow up with a family in the neighborhood who later actually became family to include: Tino, Lupe, David, Aracely, Hector, Ruben, Mauro, Ricardo, Angel, and Mikes Fuentes. She is surrounded in love by many nieces, nephews and others to include: Monica Fryar, Lorie Madrigal, Michelle Nava, and Nicole Trejo.
She will be missed dearly by everyone.
