Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Mary T. Hernandez, who entered eternal rest peacefully on the late evening of Saturday, February 28 — a day that was also her 92nd birthday.

Mary was born on February 28, 1934, in Uvalde, Texas, to Santana and Maria Tafolla. She grew up alongside her sisters, Irene and Elva, and her brother, Santiago. A proud graduate of Uvalde High School, Mary carried with her throughout life the values of faith, family, and hard work that were instilled in her from an early age.

She found her greatest joy in spending time with family and friends. Known for her kind heart and generous spirit, Mary opened her home to anyone in need, offering comfort, warmth, and unwavering support.

On December 23, 1955, Mary married the love of her life, Clemente Del Toro Hernandez. Together they built a beautiful life and were blessed with three sons: Lionel, Gilbert, and Carlos. Mary was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Clemente Del Toro Hernandez.
