Mary Lou
Treviño
January 14, 1945 – July 29, 2022
Mary Lou Treviño gained her wings on July 29, 2022, surrounded by the warmth and love of her family. She was 77 years old and was born in Kyle, Texas on January 14, 1945.
She married her high-school sweetheart, Enrique Treviño and was happily married for 61 years.
She returned to San Antonio and worked at United Methodist Church. She injured her back and ultimately retired from work to recuperate from her injuries and to enjoy time with her family. When she was feeling better, and on a good day, you could find her going to Kickapoo Casino and listening to her favorite Tejano music.
Mary was loved and will be missed.
She is survived by her children: Gilbert Edward Treviño, James A. Treviño, and Debra T. Aguirre (Richard.) Her grandchildren: Matthew E. Treviño (Jessica), Kathryn Treviño, Danielle T. Aguirre, Elizabeth Trevino, and Gabriel Treviño (Loryanne); and great granddaughter: Isabella. She is also survived by her siblings, Jerry Rodriguez (Rosemary), Robert Rodriguez, Elizabeth "Betty" Hinojosa, Janie Huron, Diane Rodriguez (Rhonda), along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. And of course, her fur babies: Samantha, Buster and Khloe who became her constant companions and faithfully watched over her after her husband passed.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Santiago Alvarado (grandfather/adoptive father) and Maria Chavira Alvarado (grandmother/adoptive mother); Consuelo Rodriguez (biological mother), Timo Rodriguez (step-father); and siblings: Richard Alvarado and Gabriel Rodriguez.
Mary Lou was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend and will be greatly missed. She was the backbone of our family, and we will continue to make her proud.
