Our beloved Matias Sosa passed away peacefully on February 26, 2023 after years of struggle with diabetes. Matisa was born in 1964 in San Antonio, Texas to Richard and Maria Sosa. He graduated from Thomas Jefferson High school in 1983.

Although Matias struggled with schizophrenia since his teenage years as well he showed his love for his brothers Juan and his wife Lydia Sosa, Richardo Jr and his wife Mari Sosa, his beloved late nephew Juan Sosa Jr (John Boy), and his loving nieces Angelica & Angelina Sosa.

Matias enjoyed being outdoors and would normally be found roaming the San Antonio Area. We could usually find him at Taco Cabana his second home. He also loved his cigarettes and always had a sweet tooth craving. His condition took him away from us too soon. We were able to say goodbye knowing that he would be reunited with his parents. We will miss all the laughter he bought to us.

Matias is preceded in death by his loving family members Juan Sosa Jr (John Boy), his mother Maria Sosa and his father Richard Sosa Sr. He is survived by his brothers Juan (Lydia), Richard (Mari), and Step Sisters Mary Helen (Joe) Rodriguez, Slyvia (Alfonso) Garcia and their families, Uncle Gilbert Sosa and cousins and numerous extended family members.

The family would also like to thank the ICU Physicians and Nurs at Peterson Hospital, Waterside Nursing and Rehabilitation, Morningside Manor, and Embrace Hospice for their care in Matias.
