Obituary

Matilda G. Pastrano was born in San Antonio, Tx on June 29,1963 and passed away June 30, 2023, at the age of 60. She leaves behind her husband of 42 years, Rudy Pastrano and her 4 sons. Rudy (Claudia) Pastrano, Alex (Veronica) Pastrano, Jason (Tiffany) Pastrano and Ray (Gabby) Pastrano. 12 grandkids: Nathanel, Sebastian, Rudy, Ruby, Gillian, Rihanna, Ray Jr., Jaylin, Joseph, Ava, Hailey and Alexander.  Brothers, Sisters, numerous nieces and nephews and friends, whom she loved very much. She is preceded in death by her granddaughter, Alexa Rae Pastrano. Her Father, Alexandro Gonzales and her Mother, Juanita Aguero aka Mommy.

Matilda was best known for being the loudest person in the room. She didn't know what using your "inside voice" was about. Her sons would constantly tell her, "Mom, you don't have to yell. I'm right here." And she would just laugh and say, "Well, that's the way I talk." She would make friends anywhere and everywhere she went, and she LOVED to engage in the chisme. She was the life of the party and had her own ways of speaking. She made up words and spelled them wrong most of the time, but we learned her lingo and knew exactly what she meant.

She loved playing Loteria every Saturday with her daughter-in-law, Claudia and family. Her kids knew that they couldn't call her during Loteria and when they did, she would just look at her phone say, "They know I'm playing Chalupa!" and just turned her phone face down.

Matilda was a huge sports fan and a huge Cowboys hater! and she LOVED to make football pots and make bets against her son, Alex on the Cowboys. She loved Money and would get mad if she lost any bets. She enjoyed watching her sons Jason and Ray play basketball and would get upset when the other parents would say things about them and would exchange cuss words, ready to go to battle for her kids. When speaking to her oldest son, Boy, he would sing her lyrics to a song, and she would guess the song. She looked forward to Football Sundays so she could watch her favorite team, the Steelers, with Ray and loved to point out that Jason's team (Jets), Nano's team (Cowboys) and Boy's team (Vikings) lost and couldn't wait to call her sons and rub it in.

And best believe she loved to eat Mexican food, gorditas, fried fish and fried chicken. She loved to cook for her kids Monday-Thursday because Friday-Sunday were her days off. She was known for her famous Salsa, which she learned how to make following her Mommy's recipe.  It had to be spicy or else it wasn't good. She enjoyed going out to eat with her sisters and nieces and spending quality time with them.

Matilda always had a clean house! If you ever visited her home, you know that it was never dirty. She loved cleaning while listening to her favorite Tejano music and singing at the top of her lungs to every song.

She was a fighter since day one. She was pronounced deceased when she was younger but fought hard and came through and was able to live a wonderful life.  She was diagnosed with Polio as an infant and because of that, she had to have rods placed in both legs.  She would always refer to herself as "Forest Gump" because she had the same leg braces as he did.

She was one of a kind and will be forever missed by all whom loved her.
