Obituary

Matthew Steven De Leon, a faithful man who loved God, his family, church, and community entered fully into the presence of the Lord on February 11, 2023. Matthew was born in San Antonio on October 13, 1975.
Matthew's Catholic faith was an essential part of his life. He spent a great deal of time mentoring young Christians at Christ the King and Sacred Heart Catholic Churches. He participated in many ACTS (Adoration, Community, Theology & Service) retreats and was a member of the Christ the King (CTK) Knights of Columbus. He was a guitarist with the choirs at CTK and Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Churches.
Matthew was employed at Beyer Plumbing for 13 years and with IES Solar, Inc. for the last two years of his life. He thoroughly enjoyed camping, fishing, grilling, playing his guitar, singing, trying new foods and restaurants, and making his famous salsa.
He is preceded in death by his beloved parents, Joe C. De Leon, and Lydia R. De Leon in addition to brothers, Joseph A. Del Leon, Martin R. De Leon, Christopher De Leon, and his sister, Lilly Ann De Leon. He is survived by his loving companion, Carmen Marie; Sister Olga De León; nephews Martin, Lorenzo, Louis, and Christopher; nieces Bridgette and Linda. He was a beloved brother-in-Christ to many.

Visitation will take place from 4:00pm until 7:30pm on Monday, February 20, 2023 at Christ the King Catholic Church, 2610 Perez St. San Antonio, Texas 78207. A Rosary will begin at 6:00pm. Family and friends will meet at Christ the King Catholic Church on Tuesday, February 21, 2023 from 9:00am until 10:00am for visitation with Mass to begin at 10:00am. Burial to follow at Resurrection Cemetery at Cordi-Marion.
