Mauro Rene Arrellano, went to be with the Lord on August 20, 2023, in San Antonio, Texas, at the age of 38. He was born on March 8, 1985, in San Antonio, Texas, a son of Rosa Cantu and the late Rene Arellano.

With a wicked and intelligent sense of humor matched by no other, our beloved Rene's spirit touched many lives. We know that Rene had many family circles. To his immediate family, he was Mauro, a son, a brother, and an uncle. Outside of his immediate family, he was Rene. Rene was an avid game player, with circles of family both online and in poker. Rene shared his love of fine dining and great food with his service industry family at Perry's and Pappadeaux's. Here in San Antonio, Rene is who we shared holidays with, trips to the lake, late nights and endless laughs. He managed to find a hilarious nickname for everyone, including his cats Smoke Dog and Patches, and could have the room giggling within minutes. He is dearly loved and will be greatly missed.

Family members include his mother, Rosa Cantu; siblings, Janelle Chavez, Monica Masters, and Aldo Moro and Michael Angelo Moro; aunts, uncles, and friends who were like family.

The family will receive guests on Sunday, August 27, 2023, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm for visitation and at 6:00 pm, where a prayer service will be conducted in Castillo Funeral Home.
