Melinda Ann
Torres
September 20, 1975 – August 14, 2025
Our Beloved Melinda gained her heavenly wings at the age of 49. She was born in San Antonio, Texas, and where she continued to reside her entire life. She is reunited in heaven with her beautiful parents, Armando and Margie Torres, her nephew Joshua Silva, her brother-in-law Abraham Silva, grandparents, aunts and uncles.
As the youngest child of Armando and Margie Torres, Melinda is now reunited with her loving parents in heaven, who she deeply loved and profoundly missed.
Melinda's academic background includes attendance at Forest Hills Elementary, Sul Ross Middle School, and Holmes High School one year before enrolling in Faith Outreach Christian Academy, where she graduated in 1994.
Throughout her career, Melinda demonstrated remarkable adaptability and enthusiasm, transitioning seamlessly from her initial role at the mall food court to Gymboree, Gunn Park, Corner Stone, Sephora, GDC, Pizza Patron, and her last employment being with Thomas J Henry. She loved making new friends and we all know she had many who she loved dearly.
Melinda was engaged to Richard Chavez. She was so happy and excited to begin her plans for their October Wedding. She assigned our roles on the last holiday we all spent together as a family, Easter. It was a beautiful time and a day we will always cherish.
Her fur babies Bella, Lola, Maggie, Brady and Lilly were also her world. She loved them all so much.
Melinda was an outstanding daughter, consistently showering affection by assisting her mother with makeup and hair on her parents' date nights. She highly valued moments spent watching sports with her parents, particularly The Spurs and The Dallas Cowboys, as well as the Washington Redskins, her father's favorite team. Melinda's devotion to her two sisters and her only brother was unwavering. She eagerly looked forward to family gatherings, birthday celebrations, kitchen table discussions and family trips. As an aunt, Melinda was exceptional, showering her nephews, nieces, great nephews and great nieces with unconditional love. They will cherish every single memory with their amazing auntie Melindy. Melinda was so happy she made it to the last Torres Family Reunion. It brought her so much joy to see her dad's sister Norma, spending time with all her cousins and their families. Melinda always looked forward to the holidays. The annual pumpkin patch family gathering at Aunt Sharon's to Thanksgiving and Christmas. She loved decorating and preparing the family festivities. She always went above and beyond unconditionally. We rejoice that our beautiful Melinda was a believer in our Lord Jesus Christ and had rededicated her life to Jesus just weeks before. Your purpose on earth is complete. You have been received in Heaven fully restored in the extreme beauty of our Lord. You will be dearly missed, but we will see you again.
Melinda is survived by her loving fiancé Richard Chavez "chito"; his mother Rose Chavez; her siblings Leticia "Didi" Silva, Melissa Torres, Armando Torres Jr (Claudette); Nephews and Nieces Jacob Silva (Amber), Jessica Rodriguez (Leo), Michael Valdez, Armando Torres III (Sarah), Ashlie Torres, Briana Mendez, Great Nephews and Great Nieces Alyssa Valdez, Aubrey Torres, Audrey Torres, Camilo Silva, Arianna Torres, Olivia Silva, Serenity Torres and Armando Torres IV ( her little mandito), Numerous Aunts, Uncles and Cousins.
