Michael Ray
Torres
March 17, 1981 – September 11, 2022
Michael Ray Torres went to be with the Lord Sunday morning, September 11, 2022, at the age of 41.
Born on March 17, 1981, in San Antonio Texas, he is one of three children to his parents, Gloria Vivian and Robert Torres. Anyone who knew Michael quickly recognized how much he loved his family. Michael and his wife Monica Lynn Torres shared a beautiful twenty-year marriage and adventure together. He cherished his most precious gifts from the Lord, his son, Michael Ray Torres II and two daughters, Mickaela Lynn Torres, and Danisia Alainah Rivas.
Michael accomplished much during his lifetime and will be remembered for so many of those successes. He was never one to shy away from the tough jobs working as a sheet metal journeymen, mechanic and foreman for various companies including Team Mechanical, Comfort Air and Gillette AC. He was a skilled sheet metal mechanic for over twenty years until his untimely passing.
A true outdoorsman, he enjoyed spending free time with his family fishing the waters, roughing it outside camping, barbequing, and gardening at home. He enjoyed the sport of basketball, a huge fan of his hometown team the San Antonio Spurs. During football season, he never missed a Pittsburgh Steelers game and took every opportunity to trash the Dallas Cowboys. He truly enjoyed the simple pleasures of life; great conversation, making someone smile, feeling hopeful for his and his family's future and of those he knew. He was most happy surrounded by his wife, children, nieces, and nephews. Those times exist now in our memories and will be forever cherished.
He is preceded in death by his grandmother, Conception Baron Torres.
He is survived by his wife, Monica Lynn Torres; children, Michael Ray Torres II, Mickaela Lynn Torres, and Danisia Alainah Rivas; parents, Gloria Vivian and Robert Torres; brothers, Robert Torres II and Rene Torres; sister, Valerie Torres; six nieces; eight nephews; five sisters-in-laws; three brothers-in-laws; in addition to numerous extended family and friends.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 22, 2022, at Castillo Funeral Home from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm with the Holy Rosary to be recited at 6:00 pm.
