Obituary

Miguel A. Balderas, born November 27, 1978, in Post, Texas, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 21, 2021, at the age of 42 surrounded by family. He is survived by his loving wife of 13 years, Rosalinda Balderas; his beloved parents, Vitelio and Maria Balderas, beautiful daughters, Serena Reyes and Sierra Reyes; brothers, Guadalupe Balderas and wife, Victoria, and Vitelio Balderas Jr. and wife, Veronica; niece, Gabriella Balderas; nephews, Vincente Balderas and Xavier Balderas; and numerous other relatives. In addition, he leaves behind his four-legged fur babies: Muffles, Gordan, and Charlie. He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, paternal grandparents, aunts, and uncles.

Miguel was an avid believer in higher education as he himself received a Master's degree from the University of Texas at San Antonio. He became a project manager as a civil engineer and was very passionate about his career. He started his career working for SAWS then pursued a civilian position for the military in the same field. He ended his career working for a company that assisted less fortunate communities in Mexico in getting their water and sewer infrastructure built. He loved that he was able to give back and make life a little easier for those from the same country from which his family is from. Miguel was a man of few words, but big on following through on his promises. His family meant the world to him and there is nothing he wouldn't do for them. Miguel was a huge sports fanatic: Nascar, NFL, NCAA, NBA, MLB, MLS, and NHL. He was ecstatic to hear the news that his oldest daughter had been accepted to UT Austin (his favorite school). Although he will not be here to see which college his youngest chooses, he knew that she was accepted by many and will guide her in making the right decision from above. He was deeply loved and will be dearly missed. We will forever treasure the memories we made together in our thoughts and hearts. Visitation will be at Castillo Mission Funeral Home on Saturday, March 13, from 1 to 5 pm with a rosary being recited at 3 pm. Cremation will follow.
