Minerva "Minnie" Gonzalez
On March 6, 2025, Minerva "Minnie" Gonzalez entered into the presence of the Lord as a faithful servant. Born on September 26, 1937, in Hebbronville, TX, Minnie was the eldest of twelve children to Maria Mata.
Minnie was devoted to her family, faith, and community. Her career was spent working in hospitals, including Santa Rosa Hospital System and The Methodist Hospital System. Minnie's deep faith inspired her to be charitable, generously donating to the Wounded Warrior Project, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, and her home parish, St. Dominic Catholic Church.
Minnie is loved and will be greatly missed by her Children, Diane Gonzales, Raymond Gonzalez, Ida Gonzalez; Grandchildren, Paul Gonzales, Venuz Gonzalez, Jennifer Gonzalez, Apollo Gonzalez, Bryan Gonzales, Adam Gonzales, Aphrodite Gonzalez, Athena Gonzalez, Great-grandchildren: James Gonzalez, Danielle Gonzalez, Noah Gonzalez, Devyn Gonzales, Dylan Gonzales, Jazmine Gonzalez, Logan Gonzalez, Kyrie Gonzales, Annika Gonzales; Great-great-grandchildren, Cynthia Gonzalez, Emmett Gonzalez; Siblings, Jesse Mata, Armandina Mata, Hector Mata, Mary Huerta
Minnie is reunited in heaven with her Children: Delia Gonzalez, Annabel Gonzalez; Grandchildren, Daniel Gonzalez, Christopher Gonzalez; Great-grandchildren; Makayla Banis, Agostina Gonzales; Siblings, Juan Mata, Joe Mata, Adela Mata, Alberta Mata, Lupe Mata, Frank Mata, Rene Mata.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 19, 2025, from 4 PM until 8 PM at Castillo Funeral Home with a Rosary at 6 PM. Funeral services will take place on Thursday, March 20, 2025, beginning at 8 AM from Castillo Funeral Home a procession will depart the funeral home at 9:15 AM for a 10 AM Mass at St. Dominic Catholic Church, with Interment to follow at San Fernando Cemetery II.
