Modesto "Moe"
Rodriguez
May 16, 1963 – June 29, 2024
Modesto "Moe" Rodriguez, at the age of 61, experienced an untimely passing on June 29, 2024.
Modesto, lovingly nicknamed Moe, was born, raised and lived in San Antonio, Texas.
Moe began his adult career as a Sheet Metal Mechanic at Kelly Air Force Base, where he was employed for 14 years. Ever driven, during that time he obtained his Bachelor's of Science in Electrical Engineering from UTSA. Soon afterwards he achieved a license as a Professional Engineer. His career later took him to CPS Energy where he was a mainstay for nearly 25 years. At the time of his passing, Moe was the Downtown Network Manager, a role that provided him with the fulfillment of being a mentor and problem solver.
Moe enjoyed working on cars as an amateur mechanic, especially on his classic 1968 Chevy. He would commonly be seen in his trademark mechanic's jumpsuit and hat anytime one of his sons had car trouble. He was a great handyman who had the ability to fix nearly anything. Moe also was an aficionado when it came to coffee and brisket, always working to find ways to improve his ability to prepare both.
Moe is preceded in death by his parents, Modesto Sr. and Gregoria Rodriguez. His surviving siblings are Roland Rodriguez (Barbara) and Elsa Garza (Steve).
Moe left a huge hole in the hearts of his sons Mark, Matthew (Lauren), Michael (Ellie), and his wife of 37 years, Elizabeth. He was also loved by his numerous nieces, nephews, friends, and his dog Millie.
Moe will truly be missed by all who were fortunate to know him.
