Monico C. Pereida Sr. went to be with our Lord on April 9, 2022, at the age of 85.

Monico was born on September 11, 1936, in San Antonio Texas to the late Carlos and Maria Pereida. Together he and Juana shared a 66-year adventure and marriage together. He worked as a truck driver for 30+ years. He enjoyed the simple pleasures in life, just being outside in nature brought him great peace. He was an avid reader of the newspaper every day. He was a sports fan and enjoyed trips to Kickapoo Casino.

He inspired people around him to be better individuals. His capacity for generosity knew no bounds. He was also someone who would help anyone in need with support, encouragement, and guidance. Monico loved when the family got together and truly devoted his time to family. Those times will exist in our memories and will be cherished forever. We loved his caring ways, and he will be deeply missed.

There are no words that can express the feelings in our hearts. Thank you for your prayers and support during this difficult time. Your shared memories, comforting condolences and gestures of love are truly appreciated.

He is preceded in death by his parents Carlos and Maria Pereida, brothers Carols Pereida, Felix Pereida, and Rodulfo Pereida.

He is survived by his survived by his wife, Juana Pereida, children, Rosemary Guerrero (Rudy Guerrero), Monico 'Mike' Jr (Amy), Pereida, Sandra Arroyo (Louis Arroyo), Juan Pereida (Veronica Pereida), Monica Pereida (Russell Padilla). Monico is also survived by his siblings Raul Pereida, Mary Lou Castillo, Delma Mendoza 'Daniel Mendoza', Tony Pereida (Zulema), and Robert Pereida; 15 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, one great great-grandchildren, in addition to numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

A visitation will be held at Castillo Funeral Home on Monday, April 25, 2022, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm with a prayer service to begin at 6:00 pm. On Tuesday, April 26, 2022, a chapel service will be held at Castillo Funeral Home at 10:00 am with interment to follow at San Fernando III Cemetery.
