In Loving Memory of Nemesio Alvarado (Grandpa) we announce the passing of a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He was born March 27, 1943 and was called to the lord on May 22, 2026 at the age of 83, surrounded by his loved ones. Nemesio is survived by his wife Linda Alvarado of almost 50 years, Grandson Louis Olivo III and great grand kids, sons, daughters, brothers and sisters, nieces and nephews and several friends that he called family. He is reunited in heaven with his Mother Chona Alvarado and other family members.

Nemesio loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren dearly and was like a father figure to them. Nemesio was a great man loved watching his cowboys and never missing a game and loved playing pool having won several championships along the way. He made many great memories with friends and family. He had a smile that would light up a room and a laugh like no other. He was always straight forward and loved you in his own way.

He was the type of person who would lend a helping hand without hesitation and always made sure those around him felt welcomed and cared for. Whether spending time with family, enjoying music, sharing meals, or simply sitting and talking with loved ones, Nemesio treasured every moment spent with those closest to him. He served in the Vietnam War and then did another 30 plus years in civil service for Kelly AFB and Locked Martin.

Visitation will be held at 4:00-8:00 pm on Monday, June 8th , 2026 at Castillo Funeral Home , 520 N. Gen McMullen with visitation beginning at 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Funeral service will be June 9th 9:30 am at St. Vincent De Paul departing from Castillo Funeral Home at 8:45. Burial: Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery
