Nicholas M. Cantu, aged 70, passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, May 21, 2025, after a long courageous battle with cancer. Throughout his journey Nick remained strong and full of hope and always had the love and support of his family and friends.

Nick was born in Ogden, Utah on October 8, 1954 and grew up in San Antonio, Texas where he graduated from Memorial High School.  From a young age, he worked at his father's company, eventually co-owning and operating it with his brothers until he fell ill.

Nick was very outgoing and had a great passion and skill for shooting pool, loved his four dogs and the Dallas Cowboys.  He enjoyed taking last minute road trips for fun adventures.  He loved the water and was always ready to stop to take a swim or fish.  Nick lived a small life but loved in a big way.  His love for his family was strong and he always looked out for his friends.

Nick is preceded in death by his parents Tomas and Lucy Cantu and Nephew Tommy Cantu.

Nick is survived by his family and loved ones who he loved with everything in him and who stayed by his side throughout his fight,  JoAnn Carrera; his brothers, Tomas (Corina) Cantu; Eddie (Gen) Cantu; Rick Cantu; and grandson, Justin (Cece) O'Neal.  Nick is also survived by nieces and nephews, Lucy (Ivan); Lisa (Abel); Stephanie (Steve); Jeanette (Mike); Jessica (Adam); David (Cyndi); Ricky; Mark; Brian (Beatrice); Jerry (Sabrina); and Jonathan.

Nick was kind and generous and his strength, love, and courage will always be remembered.  He touched so many during his time with us and his memory will live forever in the hearts of those who loved him.
