Obituary

Nicolas (Nick) S. Campos Jr. went home to be with the Lord on February 3, 2023. He was 83 years old.
Nick was born in San Antonio, Texas, on January 16, 1940, born to father Nicolas (Nick) M. Campos Sr. and mother Manuela S. Campos who preceded him in death. He was the eldest son of 2 sisters, Francis Diaz, and Sylvia Campos Blanquiz; and 4 brothers, Esequiel Campos Sr. (deceased), David Campos Sr. (deceased), Rudy Campos Sr., and Alfred Campos Sr.
Nick graduated from Lanier High School. He enlisted in the US Marine Corps and trained at Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton in California as a member of the 14th Infantry Battalion. After his military commitment, he attended Durham College where he studied Bookkeeping. After a few years of working as a bookkeeper for various companies, he began working for Frito-Lay, as a Driver, for over fourteen years. With his vast years of experience, Nick pursued his own business goals and opened Manpower Pest Control & Termite Co, which he ran with his wife. He later established a second pest control company called Amen Exterminators–Termite & Pest Control where he worked with his son until the time of his passing.
Nick is survived by his wife Felice A. Campos of 55 years; daughters Monica R. Glover (Clary) and Marina A. Campos; son Nick Campos III; grandchildren Anissa N. Vargas and Austin F. Vargas. He also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, extended family, and friends.
Nick Loved Big! He impacted and encouraged many people's lives. He was always giving hugs, handshakes, and fist bumps. His wife and children would often joke that he was running for political office because he always had to hug the babies and children, and shake hands with people when leaving church or another event. He had a huge sense of humor and enjoyed making people laugh. He was a big fan of the Dallas Cowboys and San Antonio Spurs.
Most precious to Nick was his faith in God and his dedication to serving and ministering the word of God. He began his biblical studies as a student at King's Bible Institute (KBI) at Revival Temple (now known as Destiny Church). He furthered his theological education at the Vision International School of Ministry where he earned his Diploma in Theology. In addition, he earned a doctorate degree (Ph.D.) in Christian Counseling from Vision Christian University. His passion to administer the word led him to work within the prison ministry for over 35 years, of which 25 of those years he served as a volunteer chaplain at the Dominquez unit in San Antonio, Texas.
Dr. Nick Campos, Jr. was a counselor, a prayer warrior, and an encourager of the word of God. He will be missed tremendously.

I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing.
II Timothy 7-8
