Olga Montes Gonzalez, born in San Antonio October 14, 1932, entered into rest on August 22, 2024. She is survived by her loving husband, Delbert R. Gonzalez Sr., sons, Delbert Jr. (Luisa), Ronald (Claudia) and Roland (Diana); grandchildren: Lauren, Amanda, Steffen, Katherine, Grant and Philip and four great-grandchildren Hailey, Kristen, Lily and Olive.
Olga was preceded in death by parents Consuelo and Agustin Montes, brother Jesse Montes, sisters Delia Horne and Irma Greeno.
Upon graduation from Fox Tech in 1950 Olga worked at Woolworth's and Kelly/Lackland AFB. Olga married Delbert Gonzalez on March 31, 1953. From 1956 to 1969 she was a homemaker raising her sons until grade school age. Olga then took employment at Wilford Hall Medical Center and Audie L. Murphy Memorial Veterans' Hospital. She retired in 1988.
Olga couldn't wait to retire so that she could essentially run a day care for her grandchildren. From 1988 to 2018 she cared for six grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Her family was the love of her life.
As we bid farewell to Olga Gonzalez, we celebrate a life beautifully lived and deeply loved.
