Oscar Donel passed away at home surrounded by his family on January 18, 2023. He was 51 years old. He passed due to cardiac arrest but had long suffered with diabetes and seizures and had been on dialysis for nearly 8 years. Oscar was born in San Antonio, Texas on February 13, 1971 to Olivia and Alfredo Donel, Sr. He was a Loving Husband, Father, Brother, Uncle, Cousin and Dear Friend. Oscar is survived by his loving wife and best friend of 33 years, Stephanie Carmen Rodriguez Donel, his parents, Olivia and Alfredo Donel, Sr., his children: Michael Anthony, Toni Marie Michelle (Robert Yrlas, partner), Megan Noreen (Raziel Mikhail Quintanilla, partner) and Bruce Donel, siblings: Alfredo Donel, Jr. (Yvonne), Anna Marie Donel, Anthony Donel (Sylvia) and his brother-in-law, Larry Levario. He is preceded in death by his beloved sister, Bertha Donel Levario. He is also survived by his mother-in-law, Lucy Anne Perez, Grandmother-in-law, Carmen Perez, Brother-in-law, Immanuel (aka Manny) and his wife, Kerry. If there is a Rock and Roll Heaven, Oscar will definitely be front and center stage! His passion for music was like no other and was only surpassed by his love for his wife, children, family and many friends (students). He was a talented guitarist and musician. His eclectic music taste was always surprising to many. Yet his favorite genre of music will always be classic rock. He loved multiple bands such as: Budgie, Led Zeppelin, Judas Priest, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Ozzy Osbourne, DIO, Black Sabbath, Supertramp, Yngwie Malmsteen, The Voidz, Highly Suspect, Thin Lizzy, Ben Howard, Khaled, Extreme, Radiohead, Iron Maiden, Joe Satriani, Gary Moore and The Pretenders to name a few. He could often be found playing music with his garage band buddies, or during family barbecues, but his most favorite time was playing acoustic at Garner State Park by a campfire or in his family room. Oscar always loved to have fun; he never stopped smiling. Oscar had love for his fur babies: Bella (doggie), and kitty cats: Meatloaf, Mika, Keanu, Lucy,& Amos "Yum-Yum". He also follows his beloved black cat, Frankie, in death. She was a medical companion for 17 years. Oscar will forever be missed and forever be loved amongst his family and friends. His memory and legacy will forever live in the hearts of his wife, children, family and friends.
