In Loving Memory Pastor Maria Martinez

Pastor Maria Martinez was called home by the Lord, with loved ones by her bedside on Monday, September 12, 2022, in San Antonio, Texas. She was seventy-seven years old and passed peacefully in her sleep. Maria was born on September 29, 1944 in Coahuila, Mexico, and was one of four children. She is preceded in death by her parents José Angel Zapata and Octavina Lara Zapata, brothers Rodolfo and Manuel Zapata and her husband Rodolfo Garcia Martinez.

She was married to Rodolfo Martinez for 38 years before his passing in 2015. They raised their children and built a ministry while living in San Antonio, Texas. In the 1990's they started Iglesia Vision del Nuevo Pacto. They dedicated their lives to the Lord and spreading the gospel. Rodolfo and Maria taught the word, blessed, baptized and prayed for many people in their neighborhood and community.

Maria is loved and will be missed by her four children, Rudy Dominguez, Martha Garcia, Raul Dominguez, Joe Martinez (Evelyn); grandchildren, Chris Roman, David Garcia III, Brandon and Isabella Dominguez and one great grandchild on the way; sister, Bertha Zapata. Maria will also be forever loved and remembered by her numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, dear friends, and congregation. The family is grateful to the Miranda family for the love, generosity and compassion they showed toward Maria and her family.

La pastora María Martínez fue llamada a casa por el Señor, rodeada de sus seres queridos junto a su cama el lunes 12 de septiembre de 2022 en San Antonio, Texas. Tenía setenta y siete años y pasó tranquilamente mientras dormía. María nació el 29 de septiembre de 1944 en Coahuila, México, y fue una de cuatro hijos. Le precedieron en la muerte sus padres José Angel Zapata y Octavina Lara Zapata, sus hermanos Rodolfo y Manuel Zapata y su esposo Rodolfo García Martínez.

Estuvo casada con Rodolfo Martínez durante 38 años antes de su fallecimiento en 2015. Criaron a sus hijos y construyeron un ministerio mientras vivían en San Antonio, Texas. En la década de 1990 iniciaron Iglesia Vision del Nuevo Pacto. Dedicaron sus vidas al Señor y a difundir el evangelio. Rodolfo y María enseñaron la palabra, bendijeron, bautizaron y oraron por muchas personas de su barrio y comunidad.

María es amada y será extrañada por sus cuatro hijos, Rudy Domínguez, Martha García, Raúl Domínguez, Joe Martínez (Evelyn); nietos, Chris Roman, David García III, Brandon e Isabella Domínguez y un bisnieto en camino; hermana, Berta Zapata. María también será amada y recordada para siempre por sus numerosas sobrinas, sobrinos, primos, familia extensa, queridos amigos y congregación. La familia está agradecida con la familia Miranda por el amor, la generosidad y la compasión que mostraron hacia María y su familia.
