Patricia Ann Encina, mother and grandmother, died Sunday, November 7, 2021 in New Braunfels, Texas.
Ms. Encina was born on March 18, 1953 in San Antonio, TX to parents Pedro and Consuelo Encina. She was the youngest of four siblings. She graduated from G.W. Brackenridge High School in San Antonio, TX in 1972 and was the first in her family to attend and graduate from college. Ms. Encina attended St. Mary's University in San Antonio, TX, majoring in English and minoring in History, class of 1976.
She worked in customer service her entire life for major companies including USAA and American Airlines. She loved sports, particularly the Dallas Cowboys the San Antonio Spurs and the Summer Olympics, and had a passion for history and jewelry, diamonds were her favorite. She was known as a great conversationalist and enjoyed family gatherings.
She is survived by her two daughters, Monica Encina (spouse Robert Gates), Frankie C. Green (spouse John J. Green III), granddaughter Scarlett C. Green, sister Maria Estrada (spouse Rodolfo Estrada), bonus children Edwin Thompson and Erica Swain, her companion of over 40 years Edwin A. Swain, and many nieces and nephews. Her parents Pedro and Consuelo Encina, siblings Consuelo Mora and Pedro Encina Jr., and nephews Charles Mora and Rodolfo Estrada Jr., precede her in death.
