Obituary

Patricia Schenk Saenz (Nanni) age 86, beloved, loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, daughter, sister and friend, entered into eternal peace to be with her Lord and Savior in heaven on December 21, 2020.

She is survived by her loving husband of 68 years Jose A Saenz; children Joey Saenz, Mike (Lori) Saenz, Kathleen Gonzales, Shirley (Bubba) Mcgarity, and Jeff (Felicia) Saenz all in San Antonio; 16 grandchildren (Terri, Brianna, Michael, Matthew, Jennifer, Patricia, Little Bubba, Kelly, Jovelle, Ricky, TJ, Tiffany, Mandi, Heather, Jeffery, and Alyssa) and 15 great granschildren; along with her brother Martin (Judy Gaal) Schenk, and sisters Ginny (Jose) Martinez, and Laurie (Wally) Christman all in Kenosha WI.  As well as many beloved nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents Peter and Hazel May Schenk, sons Robert Allan and Rick Saenz, daughter in-law Ida Mae Saenz, and sister Ruthie Schenk.

Patricia was born in Kenosha Wisconsin on September 26, 1934 to Peter and Hazel Mae (Collins) Schenk. As a young girl her family was involved with the Salvation Army and she loved to sing on street corners  to bring Christmas cheer and the good news of Jesus birth.  Being in a musical talented family she played the french horn and also enjoyed playing baseball. She graduated from Mary D, Bradford High School in Kenosha.

On July 7, 1952 she married Jose Saenz of San Antonio Texas.  They shared 68 beautiful years of marriage and were blessed by God with seven children, 4 were born in Wisconsin (Joey, Robert Allan, Mike and Kathy) and in 1959 they moved to San Antonio and had 3 more children (Shirley, Rick & Jeff).  Through the years, she has been blessed to have 16 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.

One of her special gifts was "her voice "; she loved to sing and worship God. One of her favorite singers was George Beverly Shae,  she would listen to his songs and sing along. She also could whistle at the birds and they would whistle right back at her.

She had a loving and caring spirit and always brought encouragement to others as she helped and served in any way she could.

Being a homemaker, she was involved in PTA, mostly as President throughout all her children's school years. She always made time to attend all of their school activities and sporting events, often times carrying the whole team to games.
She was an avid Green Bay Packer fan and was very courageous to root for them in a crowd of Cowboy fans. She also loved her SPURS and didn't miss a game!

She had a great sense of fairness and always strived to do what was right. One of her greatest strengths and character was her commitment to work with a heart of integrity in everything she did. She raised her children to love God, be kind, caring and hardworking!

She will truly be missed by everyone, but her love and inspiration are treasured memories that will be forever in our hearts!

Thank you God for the gift of our Nanni's  life❤️

And Jesus said unto her " I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die."

(John 11:25)
