Paula Mijares Martinez, aged 85, peacefully departed on Friday, May 10th, 2024, at her residence in San Antonio, Texas. Born in Garza Ayala, Nuevo Leon, Mexico, she immigrated to the United States of America in 1962, seeking a better life.

Paula's unwavering dedication to her family was evident throughout her life. She fearlessly shouldered all responsibilities, and her love extended to her hobbies. She enjoyed cooking for her family, listening to beloved norteño music from her home state of Nuevo Leon, and tending to her lush garden. Her two chihuahuas, Linda and Blackie, were her faithful companions.

Paula is preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Alonzo Martinez, as well as her mother, son  Daniel (Dino) Martinez, Guadalupe Trevino, father, Amado Mijares, sister, Orfalinda Minjares, and brother, Ines Mijares. She is survived by her children: Lee Ray Martinez (Roxanna), Michael Rene Martinez (Hortencia Casillas), Magali Ortega (Richard), Argelio Abrego (Rosalva), Susan Martinez (Rick), and Michael Martinez (Kim) , Susan Martinez Robinson. Additionally, her niece, Betty Rodriguez (Joel Mireles), 14 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and three great-nephews mourn her passing.

Viewing for Paula Martinez will take place on Monday, May 27, 2024, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Castillo Funeral Home Chapel (520 N. General McMullen, San Antonio, Texas 78228). A rosary service will be held at 6:00 PM. On Tuesday, May 28, 2024, the funeral service will commence at 9:30 AM at the same chapel. The funeral procession will follow, and a committal service will be held at 11:00 AM at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery (1520 Harry Wurzbach Rd, San Antonio, TX 78209).
