Pedro Celestino Chavarria
June 29, 1953 - November 1, 2023
Pedro Celestino Chavarria joined his loving wife, Toni Belinda Chavarria, passing away peacefully on November 1, 2023, surrounded by the warmth and love of his family. Pedro was born in Monterrey, Mexico, on June 29, 1953, to Jose Chavarria and Gregoria Celestino Chavarria. His family came to the United States when Pedro was an infant and settled down in San Antonio, TX. He graduated from Holy Cross High School and enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps in June 1971, where he visited many different places, including Okinawa. Once Pedro had returned from the Marines in 1974, he married his childhood sweetheart, Toni Belinda Estrada, on November 9, 1974. Pedro and Toni lived in San Antonio and had five children. In efforts to support his family, Pedro ventured into the workforce where he worked as a mechanic.
In his younger years, he was very dedicated to running and working out. In his free time, Pedro enjoyed hosting family get togethers at his home and the park. He also enjoyed picnicking, camping, billiards, and playing sports. After the loss of his beloved wife, Pedro found his way back to his faith, and continuously prayed for his family.
Pedro is preceded in death by his wife, Toni Belinda Chavarria, as well as his father Jose Chavarria. He is survived by his mother, Gregoria Chavarria, brothers Joe Chavarria (Miriam), Frank Chavarria, Juan Chavarria (Martha), Armando Chavarria (Esmirna), Paul Chavarria (Yong), Edward Chavarria (Brenda), and his sister Adriana Chavarria, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Additionally, Pedro is also survived by his daughter Christina Chavarria Ruiz (Jonathan), sons Peter Alexander Chavarria (Vanessa), Jason Anthony Chavarria, Jose Richard Chavarria (Ashley), and Alfredo Chavarria. Finally, Pedro is survived by his grandchildren Rebecca Ruiz, Nathan Ruiz, Rachel Ruiz, Belinda Chavarria, and Alexander Chavarria.
