Pete G.
Saucedo
January 29, 1937 – July 9, 2023
Pete G. Saucedo was called to be with the Lord on July 9th, 2023, at the age of 86. He was born January 29, 1937, in San Antonio Texas. Pete is preceded in death by his father Pedro S. Saucedo (Mary Saucedo), his mother Ofelia Garza Partida, and grandchildren Gilbert Saucedo Jr, Alexa D. Montez, and Rebecca Rose Saucedo. We find comfort in knowing Pete is reunited with these loved ones in Heaven.
Pete is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Rebecca R. Saucedo. Pete met Rebecca as a young teenager, at the movie theatre. He married her on his 19th birthday, January 29, 1956. One year later they started their family of 7 children: Eva Saucedo, Jerry Saucedo (Evie), Erma S. Montez (Carlos), Gilbert Saucedo, Pete Saucedo Jr. (Margie), Alma S. Sandoval (Arturo), and Laura J. Saucedo. Pete and Rebecca have 14 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
Throughout his life he had many hobbies. As a young man he enjoyed wrestling. He was also a gifted carpenter, who built custom furniture (kitchen tables, porch benches, bookshelves). He even built his own ranch house in Floresville, TX. Carpentry was very dear to him; he left many mementos for his family to cherish. He will always be remembered by his family for his strong hardworking character.
Pete attended Brackenridge High School. He established his career in Chicago, IL as an Asphalt Raker, this is the job he retired from. He was a member of the Chicago Labor Union up until his passing. Pete enjoyed sitting on the porch listening to Spanish Conjunto music, while enjoying a beer and smoking a cigar. Most of all he loved being visited by his children and grandchildren.
Family and God were very important to Pete, he was a very loving father. In his final days he was surrounded by his family daily. He was loved by his family and many friends and will forever be in our hearts.
The family would like to thank Holy Savior Hospice, for the compassionate care given to our dad.
