Petra P. Lopez was called home to be with the Lord on Monday, June 5, 2023 at the blessed age of 85. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, who will be missed dearly by all who knew her.

She was born on June 28th, 1937 in San Antonio, Texas. One of 12 siblings, Petra was known for her hard working, courageous and independent nature. She soon became the matriarch of an ever-growing family of her own. She was a dedicated mother to 6 children, always put her family first and made sure they were well taken care of.

She was also a devoted grandmother to many grandchildren who she cared for and cherished deeply. She enjoyed spending time with them, cooking for them, and showering them with gifts.  She was loved by so many and will continue to live in our hearts forever.

Petra is preceded in death by her parents Carmen and Paula Prieto. She is loved and will be greatly missed by her children; Lucy Zamora, Joe Lopez, Johnny Lopez, Jesse Lopez, Jerry Lopez, and Loretta Brenan, their spouses, and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
