Phillip A.
Zamora
December 19, 1952 – June 24, 2024
Phillip A. Zamora, born December 19, 1952, unexpectedly passed away on June 24, 2024, at the age of 71, in his hometown of San Antonio, TX. Even though a failing heart took him away from this world, his loving heart left a beacon of light for all in the community. Phillip was preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents, his parents Manuel and Beatrice Zamora, his sister Kathy Zamora, numerous uncles and aunts.
Phillip's legacy is of his days as a very well-known local DJ for parties, quinceaneras, weddings or any event he was asked to do. He also served as the president for the local chapter of the Lions Club. Before he turned up the parties with his turntables, Phillip was a dedicated employee at Southwest Bell/ AT&T for over 30 years. His passion was saltwater fishing with many joyful trips to the Texas coast.
His cheerful attitude and bright smile will be missed by everyone who knew him, including family and friends from his time at Loma Park Elementary, Truman Middle School and Memorial High School Class of 1971 of the Edgewood Independent School District.
Phillip is survived by his beautiful wife of 13 years, Dora Elmore. He was a proud father and will be missed dearly by his daughter Lauren Zamora Leal (David Perez), son Phillip A. Zamora Jr. (Ryan Crawford), and daughter Christina M. Zamora (Alfred Martinez); 5 grandchildren in San Antonio; 5 grandchildren in Florida; brother Manuel S. Zamora III. He will also be dearly missed by his children in Florida: Nohemi(Mimi) Elmore Mocny, Robin Taylor, Rebecca Cuevas, and Erica Elmore.
"For I am already being poured out like a libation, and the time of my departure is at hand. I have competed well; I have finished the race; I have kept the faith. From now on the crown of righteousness awaits me, which the Lord, the just judge, will award me on that day, and not only to me but to all who have longed for his appearance." Timothy 2:6-8
