Porfirio Guedea, 90, widower to Juanita T. Guedea, went to be with the Lord on December 27, 2023, at his residence in San Antonio, Texas. He was born on September 15, 1933, in San Antonio, Texas, a son of the late Andrea and Manuel Guedea.

Porfirio lived a life guided by love for his family, faith in his religion and service to his country as a Korean War Veteran. He was especially proud of his time in service to his country with the United States Marines Corp. The dedication to his family defined a legacy of genuinely good people. His confidence in the Lord gives those left behind comfort and strength to continue with the sure and certain hope that one day we will be reunited with Porfirio once again.

In addition to his wife, Juanita T. Guedea and parents, Andrea and Manuel Guedea, he is also preceded in death by his 3 sons, Enrique T. Guedea, Edward Guedea and Ramon Jose Guedea.

Family members include his children, Esther (Juan) Moreno, Evelyn (Joe) Rodriguez, Edmund (Julie) Guedea, Esmeralda Guedea and Erica Guedea; 17 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; 8 great great-grandchildren; siblings, Teresa Connors, Santos Porter, Angelina (Ivan) Hinojosa, Egna (Andrew) Rodriguez, Oneida Avila, Lupita Guedea, Jerry Guedea and Nick Guedea; in addition to numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members.

The family will receive guests on Monday, January 8, 2024, in Castilo Funeral Home from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm for visitation and at 6:00 pm for a rosary service.

A funeral mass will be conducted on Tuesday, January 9, 2024, in Holy Family Parish at 10:30 am. The burial will follow with a graveside service at San Fernando Cemetery II.
