Rachel C. Sanchez, 77, went to be with the Lord on April 7, 2024, in San Antonio, Texas. She was born on April 16, 1946, in San Antonio, Texas, the daughter of the late Juan M. Sanchez and Juanita Castillo.

Prior to her retirement she was employed with the City of San Antonio for 37 years and before that worked at Kelly A.F.B. and Southwestern Bell Telephone Company. Rachel led a remarkable life filled with her passions and accomplishments. Rachel will be remembered for the way she touched the lives of many. She was a member of the Jasper Club and the Lassos Roping team while attending Jefferson High School.  In 1968, during the HemisFair, she worked at the U.S. pavilion. The experience inspired her to travel abroad after meeting many visitors and employees from various parts of the USA, Canada, and all over the world. London was her greatest adventure where she got to catch a glimpse of the royals, Queen Elizabeth and Prince Charles while visiting the Buckingham Castle. Rachel was known for her love of arts and crafts, word find puzzles, and she especially loved to shop for good deals. Her faith was strong, she would pray and read the bible daily. We will forever cherish the memories of Rachel's remarkable life and the impact she had on all those who loved and knew her.

In addition to her parents, Juan M Sanchez and Juanita Castillo, she is also preceded in death by a brother, Richard C. Sanchez.

Family members include her siblings, Rodolfo C. Sanchez, Rosalinda S. Recktor, Raymond C. Sanchez (Valerie), Rita Sanchez, Juan Jesus Sanchez (Argelia ), Rose Marie V. Rust (Michael ), godson, J. Guerra; and in addition, numerous extended and beloved family members.

The family will receive guests at Castillo Funeral Home on Thursday, April 18, 2024, from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm for visitation and at 6:00 pm for a prayer service.

A funeral service will be conducted on Friday, April 19, 2024, at 10:00 am in the Castillo Funeral Home Chapel. The burial will follow with a grave side service held at San Jose Burial Park.
