Gilly Mendez age 16 of San Antonio,Texas passed away on April 29, 2026. He was born on September 22, 2009 in Corpus Christi,Texas.

Preceded in death by his father, Jose Luis Mendez ; his aunt Natalie O’Neill ; uncles Gilbert and Emilio Jr, Gonzales

Survived by his brothers Christopher Can arrion, Jose Mendez jr, Samuel Mendez, Sebastian, Mendez, and sister Natalie Mendez, and Grandparents Janette Garcia (Tim) and Emilio Gonzales (Mary Lou) and a host of extended family, and friends who will share in his memory

Gully filled our lives with laughter, and endless energy, He loved listening to music. His smile reached everyone’s heart. He loved going in the car with his nurse Derrick Heaggins even if it was to a doctors appointment. He enjoyed spending time with Derrick after all the appointments. he loved all his nurses. He made a difference in everyone’s life. He always smiled and talked no matter his challenges. Gilliys light continues to shine through his nurses, therapist, doctors and the love of his family who will carry him in their hearts always.
