Ramon Elizondo Barboza was a beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather and great-grandfather during his incredible 93 years of life. He passed away peacefully in his home in the presence of his beloved family on Saturday, April 22, 2023. He worked as a carpenter at the San Antonio Zoo for 25 years where he then retired from and was an avid WWE and sports fan. We will remember Ramon for his charm, playfulness and the incredible love he showed towards his family and friends. He was a great man who did anything and everything for his family and will be dearly missed.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 53 years, Lucy C Barboza, his two sons Ramon Barboza Jr. (Alicia Aguillon) and Jose Luis Barboza, as well as his brother Juan Barboza (Mary). Ramon had 5 granddaughters, Beverly R Barboza-Guerrero (Vanessa), Micaela N Barboza (Patrick Rodriguez), Kimberly R Barboza (Anthony Lopez), Kassandra R Barboza (Anthony Olivares) and Jocelyn K Barboza. He also had 4 great grandchildren, Layla, Aiden, Hailey, and Jeremiah along with numerous family and friends.

He is preceded in eternal life by his parents, Juana Elizondo and Jose Barboza , his brother Luis Barboza, and his sister Eva Barboza.

We will miss Ramon dearly, but we are so grateful for the time we had to spend with him. We will always feel his presence in our hearts.

Services

Viewing will be held on Tuesday May 9, 2023, at Castillo Funeral Home from 4pm-6pm with a rosary to follow from 6pm-7pm. A funeral service will take place on Wednesday May 10, 2023, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church at 10am with interment to follow at San Fernando Cemetery #2.
