Obituary

Ramona Gomez Saucedo passed away Sunday, December 28, 2025, in Natalia, Texas at the age of 91 surrounded by her family.  Ramona was born on October 31, 1934, in Marlin, Texas to Arthur Fuentes Gomez and Patsy Willars Gomez. She married Elias Saucedo on July 2, 1970 in San Antonio, Texas.  She retired from SAISD having worked for over 21 years as a Food Service Assistant.   Ramona was an exceptional mother even after her kids were grown.  Her home was always a place of comfort to all who visited her.  She was a passionate sports fanatic, especially enjoying the Dallas Cowboys and San Antonio Spurs.   She is the most beautiful loving lady to have graced our lives. We will miss you dear mother.


Ramona was preceded in death by her loving husband, Elias Saucedo, her son Richard Shahan, and her beautiful granddaughter, Danielle Renae Saucedo and sisters, Celia Gomez Rivas, Gloria Gomez Saldiar, Anita Gomez Perales. She is survived by her children Eli Saucedo, Lisa Saucedo, Randy Shahan, Oralie Gutierrez and Maria Olga Pierce; grand-children Jon-Phillip Saucedo (Valerie), Gabrielle Saucedo, Raven Miranda Romo, Chanel Romo (Heriberto Reyes, Jr.) and Paul Donovan Romo; great-grandchildren Amaris Salinas, Brian Salinas, Jon Paul Salinas, Chanel Saucedo, Chloe Saucedo, Gianna Saucedo and Milani Rose Reyes sisters, Faye Barrera, Maria Javier.

Visitation is set for Friday, January 23, 2026 from 8:30 am - 12:30 pm at Castillo Funeral Home.  The Pastor's service is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.  All are invited to share their memories about Ramona from 11:00 a.m. to noon.   The procession will depart at 1:00 p.m. for the graveside service to be held at 2 pm and arrival by 1:45 p.m   Shelter 1, Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
