It is with heavy hearts and deep love that we announce the passing of Raul De La Cruz Gutierrez, 85, of San Antonio, Texas, on June 27, 2026. Raul also known as “Rudy” was a devoted husband, brother, uncle, and friend who brought us warmth, wisdom and infectious laughter to everyone he met.

Rudy lived a life defined by his generous spirit and his passion for hot rods and fishing. He spent 30 years working in Civil Service with the Defense Logistics Agency and retired from Kelly Air Force Base, where he was highly respected and received numerous awards and accolades.

As a favorite uncle, he had a rare gift for making every niece and nephew feel seen, sharing countless family trips. He was the anchor of our family gatherings, always ready with a great story or a sly joke.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory: his beloved nieces and nephews, and vast extended family and circle of friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Consuelo “Connie” Gutierrez; parents, Concepcion Gutierrez and Maria De La Cruz Gutierrez; siblings, Domingo, Eulalio, Ramiro, Corando Gutierrez, Herlinda Camarillo, Lydia Arellano, Asencion Tapia.

At Rudy’s request, no services will be held. A private family service will be held to honor Rudy De La Cruz Gutierrez. The family appreciates your thoughts and prayers. We kindly request privacy and time to grieve during this difficult time.
