Raul Peralta
Garcia
January 7, 1945 – October 31, 2021
Raul Peralta Garcia a resident of San Antonio, TX passed away at home on October 31, 2021 with his loving family present at the age of 76. Raul was raised in San Antonio, where he attended primary and high school. After high school he immediately enlisted in the United States Marine Corp., serving 4 years in Vietnam and achieving a rank of sergeant. On his return to San Antonio Raul met the love of his life, Amelia Ramirez. They soon married and had two children, daughter, Donna "Michelle," born Feb, 1968 and son, Steven born Feb, 1970. Raul worked different trades before he was hired as a San Antonio Park Ranger in 1979, retiring 29 years later in 2008 from now San Antonio Park Police.
Raul was an avid record and baseball card collector and amassed a large collection over his lifetime. He also had an incredible talent for writing short poems and stories, having written over 500 of them.
Raul was preceded in death by his parents, Guadalupe and Eugenia; wife, Amelia; brother, Ricardo; and son, Steven. He is survived by his daughter, Donna "Michelle"; son-in-law Robert; sister-in-law Guadalupe,; grandchildren Amelia, Jennifer, Catherine, Joseph, Mark, Audrey, Stephanie, Steven Jr, Desiree, and Gabby; nephew Ricardo Jr. and David, niece Maria and several great grandchildren.
Raul will be sorely missed by his family and many friends. His imprint of who he was will never leave. Dad. "POPO." until we meet again in heaven, we love you and will miss you.
A visitation will be held on Monday, November 29 th , 2021, at Castillo Funeral Home from 3:30 pm to 8:00 pm with a rosary recited at 6:00 pm. A funeral mass at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, will be held on Tuesday, November 30 th , 2021 at 11:30am followed by Interment at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
