Raul enlisted in the United States Army on December 1956. In June 1960 he married Erminia Zapata and they raised two children together. He was a dedicated employee for 23 years for Turbine Support refurbishing Jet engine components as Lead man. Raul earned his GED certificate from John F. Kennedy high school in 1976 and also successfully completed a Major Appliance program from Texas A&M engineering extension service in 1991.

Raul treasured his time spent in the presence of his family and was a loving and kind father to his two children Raul and Monica, and a proud grandfather. He was always willing to assist those in need with his time or knowledge.

He will be missed tremendously by those who truly cherished his presence.

Son Raul z. Godina Jr., Grand daughter Melissa Rae Contreras, Aunt Delfina Hernandez, Sister Maria Helena Godina, Brother Gonzalo Godina, Sister Amalia Miranda, Mother Prudencia Godina and Father Jesus Godina.

Raul had three Grandchildren and three Great Grandchildren.
