Raul Campos Mendoza, 75, of San Antonio, TX, passed away on February 10, 2026.

Raul was born on August 28, 1950, in Grant, Indiana. He was a graduate of "The Pride of the West Side," Sidney Lanier High School (Class of '70). Raul enlisted in the United States Army on September 30, 1970, as an infantryman. Upon completion of his service, Raul returned to San Antonio, TX, and began a 29-year career at Kelly Air Force Base as a machine tool operator.

Raul worked hard and played hard. Devoting time to help others, he could always be counted on when needed. He loved music and great company, which he found with others at his favorite spot, J&R's Hideout. In 2001, he became a grandpa for the first time, but he became "Dad" all over again when he helped care for and raise his grandson, Alec.

Quick-witted, funny, strong, and smart are just a few words to describe Raul, but he was always respectful, fair, and ready to defend his loved ones without hesitation.

Raul is survived by his sisters, Dora Salinas, Olga Gamez, Yolanda Reyna, Esmeralda Gamez, and Margie Garansuay; and his brother, George Mendoza. He is also survived by his children, Carol Mendoza and Raul Mendoza Jr. , step daughter Maria McKeown; his grandchildren, Alec Troy Mendoza, Ryan Troy Mendoza, Roman Troy Mendoza, and Rozlyn Loren Mendoza; as well as numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jose and Celestina Mendoza; his brothers, Joe Mendoza, Enrique Mendoza, Daniel Mendoza, and Ernest Mendoza; and his sister, Lydia Leal. Step son Larry Montoya.

Raul will be missed but never forgotten.
