Mr. Raul Valdez Zapata, age 88, passed away peacefully in his sleep on April 1, 2026, in Battle Creek, Michigan. Born on February 3, 1938, in San Antonio, Texas. Raul lived a full and vibrant life marked by hard work, travel and love for family and friends.
Raul's early years in San Antonio shaped the foundation of his strong work ethic, before he moved to Michigan in his late teens. While working full-time at Grand Trunk Western Railroad, he proudly earned his GED—a testament to his perseverance. His career at the railroad was a source of pride and accomplishment for him, retiring after 31 years.

He also loved dancing and took great delight in long road trips to Texas and California, where he could reconnect with cherished loved ones. Raul's legacy is one of love, resilience, and devotion. His memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew him best. May his life serve as an enduring reminder of the importance of finding joy in life's journey.
May Raul rest in peace surrounded by God's eternal light and love.
