Raymond Melvin Brown Jr., 68, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, September 3, 2023, in San Antonio, Texas. He was born on June 16, 1955, a son of the late Belia and Raymond M. Brown Sr.

Raymond accomplished much in life and enjoyed the simplest pleasures in life. As a father he was supportive and placed the needs of his two sons above his own. He was proud of his service in the United States Navy and often remembered those days. He was an avid fan of bingo and a beloved member at Grissom Bingo. His sudden departure from this world makes his time with those who knew seem all too brief. His strength to continue through any challenge and his faith in the belief in the Lord's word remind us that one day we will all be reunited once again.

In addition to his parents, Belia H. Brown and Raymond Melvin Brown Sr, he is also preceded in death by his sister, Constance Martinez and brother-in-law, David Martinez.

Family members include two sons, Raymond Melvin Brown III (Jazmin) and Bryan Anthony Brown (Melissa); grandchildren, Alyssa, Raymond, Moses, Cash, Elijah, Mckaela, Diamond, Gilbert, Ben, Jon and Raelyn; two great grandchildren, Vayda and Violet.

Additional family includes a sister, Annette Rodriguez (Albert); nieces and nephews, Monica, Joseph, Gabriel, Ashley and Angela; in addition to numerous extended family and friends.

The family will receive guests at Castillo Funeral Home on Thursday, September 21, 2023, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm for visitation and a Rosary Service at 6:00 pm.

A funeral mass will be conducted on Friday, September 22, 2023, in St. Dominic Catholic Church at 10:00 am with burial to follow at San Fernando Cemetery III.
