Raymond S Torres, lovingly known as dad and Abuelo, passed away leaving behind a legacy of love, hard work, and family traditions that will live on for generations.

Raymond was born in Puebla, Mexico, and raised in Mexico City. At the age of 10, he discovered his passion for baking, and by 15, he had already opened his first bakery. After successfully running three bakeries in Mexico, he brought his talent and devotion to the United States.

In San Antonio, Raymond owner and master baker of Los Cocos Bakery, which he proudly operated for 48 years. For nearly five decades, his pan dulce brought joy to families across the city, and his bakery became more than a business—it was a gathering place where community was built, one Pan de Huevo at a time.

Above all else, Raymond was a family man. He was the proud father of twelve children and a beloved Abuelo to countless grandchildren. His children find peace knowing he is now reunited with his late wife, Herlinda, the love of his life, whose memory he cherished deeply. Together, their love and sacrifices formed the foundation upon which their family continues to stand.

His heart beat to the rhythm of mariachi, and his love of singing brought joy and light to everyone around him. Raymond was also well known for his gift of storytelling. He loved sharing the best stories—always full of humor, heart, and wisdom—and he will be dearly missed for the joy he brought to those fortunate enough to hear them.

He is survived by his children: JoeRaymond, Carlos, Rosalinda, Leticia, Frank, Patricia, Ruth, Marsha, Abraham, Herman, James and George as well as his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren who will carry forward his spirit, values, and traditions.

Raymond Torres will be remembered for his strength, perseverance, and generosity, as well as for the countless lives he touched with his craft and kindness. To his family, he truly was El Jefe de los Jefes—a steady source of love and guidance. To his community, he was the heart behind a bakery that nourished both body and spirit. His legacy will forever live on in the recipes, the traditions, and the love he passed down.

The family will be holding a private service to honor and celebrate his life.
