Rebecca Maria (Trevino) Hogeda, passed away on Saturday, August 3, 2024, in San Antonio, Texas, one month prior to her 98th birthday. She was born on September 3, 1926, in Del Rio, Texas, to Macaria (Sotelo) Trevino and Sebastian Trevino. She was the youngest of eight brothers and sisters.

She was one of the declining numbers of what is considered the "Greatest Generation" having lived through the hardships of the Great Depression and World War II. She spoke often of her siblings and their experiences living through the Great Depression and the effects the war had on her brothers, who served in the Armed Forces.

Rebecca was an employee of the Edgewood Independent School District for more than 20 years, retiring as a school librarian. She had a long full life, many years spent with her constant companion, her daughter, Barbara Hogeda, who preceded her in death 5 months prior.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her siblings, son John Anthony Hogeda, daughters Maria Elena Pena and Barbara Hogeda; and grandchildren, Michael Paul Zermeno and Adam Hogeda.

She is survived by two daughters, Debbie Zermeno and Elizabeth Hogeda-Romo; son-in-law, Alejandro Pena; grandchildren, Anthony Zermeno (Dominique), Alexandria Romo (Clint), Sara Gonzalez (Jordan Montez) and Jonathon Pena; great-grandchildren, Ariana, Paloma, Olivia, Isadora, and Luna; in addition to numerous extended family members.

The family would like to extend our gratitude and appreciation to the caregivers at Rehoboth Assisted Living and Hospice for their love and care during her last few months of life.
