No Tears in Heaven

There are no tears in heaven nor grief of any kind;

I leave this final teardrop to those I've left behind.

Through absent from the body;

I'm present with the Lord;

The joy of my salvation is now my full reward.

Refugia Martinez went to be with the Lord Saturday, October 1, 2022, at the age of 87. Refugia was born on October 28, 1934, in San Antonio, Texas. She accomplished much during her lifetime, though her proudest achievement is her family who she cared for and nurtured. Refugia and her late husband Juan S. Martinez shared a special love for each other and were married fifty plus years. She adored her most precious gifts from the Lord, her children, Mary, Janie, Juan, Isabel, and Cynthia. Her generosity knew no bounds when it came to helping family and friends. She was fondly called "Na Na" by many because all she cared for were considered family. She played a huge role in the development of so many lives. She is reunited in heaven with her husband, Juan S. Martinez; daughter, Mary Pina; mother, Florinda Reyes; Welita Reyes; and daughter in law, Janie. She is loved and will be forever missed by her children, Janie (Moses), Juan Martinez, Jr. (Juanita), Isabel (Frank), and Cynthia (Juan); grandchildren, Sylvia Ann, Angie Ann, Juan III, Emmitt, Javier, Taelor, Thomas and Mark Sanchez, Juan M. III, Michael Pina, Tracie, Julie, Nichole  and Lorraine; great grandchild Maddy and Cheyenne, siblings, Johnny and Lupe, plus numerous cousins, great grandchildren, family and friends.
